Christmas smells of cinnamon and vanilla – and perhaps this year, yours will also smell of saffron . Saffron not only gives your cookies a beautiful golden color, but also a delicate, warm aroma that's perfect for the Advent season.

  4. Chill for 30 minutes, roll out, cut out shapes.

  5. Bake at 180 °C for approximately 8–10 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 250 g flour

  • 200 g soft butter

  • 100 g ground almonds

  • 80 g sugar

  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar or vanilla extract

  • Icing sugar for rolling

Preparation:

  1. Steep saffron in milk.

Ingredients:

  • 200 g flour

  • 100 g ground almonds

  • 100 g sugar

  • 125 g butter

  • 1 egg

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • Dissolve 10-15 threads of saffron spice in 1 tablespoon of cream.

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the dough using all the ingredients (including the saffron cream).

  2. Shape into a roll, cool, slice.

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  2. Roll out the dough, cut out round cookies, and cut small holes in half of them.

  2. Knead in the flour until a crumbly dough forms.
